Overview

Nestled in the heart of Bologna on Via Malcontenti, Da Zero - Bologna is a standout destination for pizza lovers seeking authentic Neapolitan flavors infused with a touch of regional character. This cozy establishment prides itself on delivering a genuine Italian pizza experience, where each pie is crafted with care, highlighted by a light, pillowy dough and a notably tall, airy cornicione that carries the signature Neapolitan charm.

The menu showcases a diverse selection, but the true stars are undoubtedly the pizzas. The Pizza Margherita Con Salame Piccante offers a perfect balance between the classic simplicity of margherita ingredients and a spicy kick that awakens the palate. Meanwhile, the Pizza Marinara Cilentana and specialties like the Pizza Speciale Novembre reveal a dedication to regional Italian culinary traditions, incorporating locally sourced products that elevate each bite.

Beyond pizzas, Da Zero’s kitchen excels with traditional dishes like Frittatina Di Pasta — a crispy, comforting starter — and Cavatelli Cilentani, pasta that embodies Southern Italian rustic charm. The dessert menu features well-crafted delights such as Cannoli Con Crema Pasticcera and Pastiera, rounding off the meal with authentic sweetness that reflects Campania’s rich pastry heritage.

The atmosphere speaks volumes about the restaurant’s ethos. Customers often remark on its warm and inviting setting—a space that blends contemporary vibrancy with a relaxed, bustling city vibe. The decor is stylish yet unpretentious, making it a great place for both casual dinners and lively outings. Service is consistently friendly and attentive, enhancing the overall experience.

Da Zero also offers a thoughtfully curated wine list, featuring local varietals like Falanghina and Aglianico from Campania, perfectly complementing the flavors of the dishes. The inclusion of artisanal craft beers and refined soft drinks caters to varied preferences, reflecting the brand’s commitment to quality and guest satisfaction.

This pizzeria appeals especially to those who appreciate authentic regional Italian cuisine served in a convivial setting. Whether you’re a devoted pizza aficionado or a curious traveler exploring Bologna’s culinary scene, Da Zero provides a memorable and genuine taste of Southern Italy without leaving the city's vibrant core.

In the middle of Bologna city center you will find this super cozy restaurant. On the menu you will find pizza, pizza and pizza. Great service, nice busy city atmosphere and tasty pizza. Definitely worth a visit. Friendly service and cool decor.

The atmosphere was the best part of this place in my opinion, it is an establishment that you can tell is cleaned well and cares a lot about what they do and how they serve. They sell their sauce by the jar and it tastes pure. San Marzano tomatoes would be the best way to lift the flavor up to another level. I loved the fact that they were generous with their sauce, but it resulted in the pizza base a bit too soggy, even for the style. So in my opinion the pizzas could do with cooking for very slightly longer. I am still giving this place a 4* because of the effort and care put into the craft, it was not our favorite pizza place but it was a memorable aspect of our trip to Italy and a good place to stop at for dinner in Bologna.

A GREAT Neapolitan style pizzeria in Bologna. On a recent trip we had dinner twice at Da Zero and on both occasions they exceeded our expectations. The pizza dough is pillowy and light. The pizza border (cornicione) is puffy and tall. The fillings are amazing. We tried the Crocché Cilentano, Caprese, Margherita, Alice nel Paese Delle Meraviglie, and Incontro col Diavolo. Everything was delicious.

Excellent pizza. Pizza was better here than in other places in Bologna. It was recommended for us by locals. The que to the pizzeria was long before the opening in the evening, so it is better to go there at the opening to get a place to sit. Menu is online. There is no vino del casa.

Tasty mistra salad and eggplant Parmesan. It's a slightly fancy spot with many pizza options.

The pizza was decent, I appreciate the fact that they have their own products. It was not the best pizza we had here, but it’s good for a quick stop. The service was also not the best (they nearly spilled all the wine on the table, to mention just one thing) and the atmosphere was just ok, there were some very loud people at other tables.
